Don't get the wrong idea, although this cat looks scruffy it was accomplished through processing :-)
This is Skootles
In real life he is clean and healthy and happy, but I wanted to give him a tough street cat look. He was actually annoyed with me at the time of this shot because I had just stopped him from playing with Mercy's kittens due to the fact that he is lots bigger and sometimes gets too rough with them. I like the way he was walking into the low sun's light with his ears back and whiskers down.

BTW, used the RAW image and adjusted (D-lighting in Nikon Capture, similar to Shadow/Highlight in Photoshop), then applied the Lucis Art filter Whyeth about 80%. Cloned out weeds in the bricks, removed some of the red from the bricks to better match the orange of the cat, then selective dodging, burning and sharpening. After resizing I did further levels adjustments before saving for web.

Scootles McDoodles (don't ask me where that came from) - awesome. What really is cool is the perfect scallop of the edging of the bricks. Great texture. I love how he is kicking up that back foot. Again, you are the cat master!!!

Jeez skootles looks feral!!!!!!

Great 'pose'...I can almost imagine the tail flicking harshly from side to side.

Love the curved walls and the assuredness of his steps Nice backdrop with the paving as well which complement the shot
