Found this guy at night in a tree in Sequoia National Forest. Used a headlamp to see and focus. Lit with a single, off camera flash.

Shortly after this picture, the spider caught a moth that was attracted by the headlamp.

This has potential. Try a tighter crop to fill the frame with the spider.

i hate spiders - especially big hairy ones like this guy. A closer crop, a different positioning - off center composition, and a little better lighting and sharpness would really help this one out.
