 Really taking my chances on this one. But never know til I put it out there. Not doing so great anyway.

POST: I wished to have not entered this. I was on the fence and should have fallen on the side of not entering.
This is one of my shots of fireworks taken on the 4th. As I was looking at it, the idea came to me as I was recalling the challenge topics. This was weak and the score proved it.

Thank you very much to the kind commenters that took the time to comment and apparently score higher than the masses. Much appreciated.

Had to look up what those were and still don't know. All I could figure was that they both had to do with blood. I'll take your word for it that they're mutually exclusive groups. And blood being one of the things we can't do without I get the burst of life fade of death reference but also how the two fireworks here reflect that as well. One has just burst and the other is nearly dead. Looks like you are an intelligent person who's put a lot of thought into this challenge. As for the technicals I think you've done a good job here as well. The composition and color are pleasing. I know July 4th shots I took came out squiggly on most of them because I didn't use a tripod. In the end this probably isn't going to get the score it deserves.

Really interesting concept of dichotomy! Interesting that we didn't really think about this term until this challenge and now, can see it everywhere!
