 The Dichotomy between professing a Faith which teaches love and peace and the committing of acts of such violence and hatred in it's name is one that has always interested me.

I haven't really done it justice here and others will probably tackle it better, but the fact that these are truly so mutually exclusive seemed appropriate and timely subject matter.

I like how you've depicted more than just one faith in this. I also think the desaturation level leaving just a hint of color works quite well to affect the mood of it. A little more clarity on the gun would have helped as well as maybe adjusting the highlights and shadow or brightness and contrast in a layer with just the gun would have brought it out just a little better. After the challenge is over if you'd like for me to show you what I mean then just PM me. Excellent idea for the challenge.

I like the contrast. I hope you don't get voted down on it being over religious. I think it's a nice mix. Nice statement. Good Luck.

"Religion and Violence" would be more appropriate. Faith is what you believe. Religion is what you practice. Good luck with it though.
