I love cats, and I do not vote them down, but for artistry, this shot is not high on my list. Try clurring the background or getting closer to the eyes. It's a bit over contrast, but not much. Good placement.

Nice look at your cat, but the background is distracting. The details on your cat are blown out. Background is also too dark against the subject.

given the drab background, i think this may have been a stronger image had it been b/w. the other objects distract from the subject.

Pity about all that light, direct flash always tends to make pictures look unnatural.

Most of the cat pix don't seem dependent on point of view, this one does. I really like the framing.

Nice angle. Looks like a little midget cat with no arms. Cropping out everything but the cat may have been better though.

did you use flash? kind of looks like it the way the cats face is blown out and the rest of the photo is dark. flash, or a really powerful lamp with directed light. anyway, I do think the face has gotten too bright. focus on the kat is a little soft, but the focus on the seat of the chair is great. see how we get a lot of texture on the seat? I wish we could have that texture on the cat instead. looks like the auto focus focussed on the seat instead of the cat. good point of view. I like looking down on things in photos like this. ~Heather~

The lighting could use... well... a little tweaking...

while the point of view is somewhat interesting, this really looks to me like nothing more than a snapshot with flash, which doesn't require any effort or imagination. So many other submitters put a lot of work into their submissions, and it shows. 2.

I doubt if this background took much thought or many days to set up. But the puss has a lovely little expression and clearly loves this photographer. So I am happy.

How did you get the cat to stay focused that long? :) Nice focus on the head - Stuff around the cat (chair? screws?) distracts from the composition a bit.
