This is not the greatest square crop I've ever seen. I was trying to get the feel of this girl being alone on the beach and catching the last rays of the sun. I'll try and do better tomorrow with something else.

Actually, I think you did well at capturing both her solitude and the texture of the beach. I'm torn about the bird, though. It adds a little visual surprise but also reduces that solitary feel.

I quite like the crop, I think by getting rid of the bird you'd really increase the feeling of aloneness (?).

Not a bad composition at all. The bird in the upper-right corner really adds to it. I might have trimmed the blue at the top, but maybe not!

The perspective on this is cool. The bird adds something to the depth of the background.

I like her being the only one in the photo, it gives a sense of peacefullness.

It certainly looks like she's alone...except for that bird.

I like how there's one lone bird up in the corner too. She looks a little sun burnt!

woah there...for me this shot works fine, especially from a composition perspective. Love the lone girl and lone seagull sharing the same space yet distant from each other

I find it an interesting juxtaposition between the girl and the bird.

Actually I think you have done a great job of capturing the feel of being alone on the beach! I might agree about losing the bird; I really love how her bathing suit and bag blends in with the sand; very restful image!

this is really interesting. but i'd actually crop the bird out, i like the idea of her being the last lifeform left on the beach. but it's still great either way.

The bird takes the cake here - wonderful photo. It was interesting in the thumb and didn't disappoint in the full size. Has a very minimalistic feel to it, especially since the colors are sort of monochromatic. Great job.

I guess you'd need to be higher up.
I like that there's a seagull in the frame as well.
