 The Suwon River cuts across Hwaseong Fortress from the North to the South. Water gates were installed on the north and south walls to allow the river to flow through. Hwahongmun Gate is the north water gate of the fortress, containing 7 different-sized arches to let the water through. The central opening is larger than the ones towards the outside, making it easier to control the rainfall.

The name of the gate translates to "beautiful rainbow-colored gate."

Thank you to everyone for the kind comments and votes. It is very easy to say that I have learned so much in the last month or two on how to get my photos better. I especially thank the members of Team Stranger who gave me support while my photography spirits were low and gave me the courage to continue on. Well I don´t really know what to say about this image. First off congratulations on the 5th place, this could very well have ribboned in my opinion. I really like the colors, contrast, sharpness and details in this shot and composition is also very good. Only thing that could have made this shot better would have been an absolutely still water reflection and maybe a cloud or two in the vacant sky but that´s hardly for you to control. Can´t really come up with anything I would want to improve with this shot so I´ll just leave it at that.
