I got some more fun action shots this morning, but I figured y'all could only take just so many cat jumping pictures in a row, so I chose something more serious :-)
This is Ajax, a 15-month old male from Mercy's first litter (since we moved onto this property, anyway!). Although his two sisters live inside now (pictures upcoming of course), Ajax is petrified of being inside so he lives outside. He is very sweet and playful, and gets along with Skootles (who also prefers to live outside most of the time) just great. This was taken after he had rolled around in the damp dirt -- why do cats like rolling around in dirt so much???

Lovely DOF and nice detail on his face (not always easy on a black kitty, as I know from experience).

Cute pose, I like the crop. At first I thought he had food (dry food dust) on his face. Very cute

I love the cat jumping pictures - though they make me feel inadequate with my sedentary old ladies - both 16 - they don't jump that frequently anymore.

Ajax here looks very much like my Cosima - black with green eyes. She likes to roll in the dirt, too. When I still let them out - before Handsome Kitty was eaten by coyotes - Cosima would roll in the desert dirt and come home looking like an alley kitty. I think they like the scratching action on their skin - it's a bizarre way of cleaning. I may be wrong - but elephants clean themselves with dirt, too.
