WELL! Yesterday was just about the greatest day of my life! Just like every year, my family went to the rodeo for the 4th of July festivities. It was absolutely excruciatingly hot out and I couldn't bear to sit down amidst a crowd of sweaty people and watch the rodeo. SO! I decided to go walk around. While I was up and about I was standing near a gate snapping some candid shots and a very official looking in a golf cart asked me if i'd mind opening that back gate for him. So I did... and then I decided to follow him in there. That back gate led to the area in which all the cowboys and cowgirls were hanging out and preparing to ride. I was behind the scenes for sure... I probably wasnt supposed to be there but I just acted like I belonged. I was shaking with excitement because there were so many cool photo opportunities and I felt like I was telling a story with my camera as I was shooting. It was so very fun. ahh!

I enjoyed your entire "Rodeo" portfolio. Great story behind it -- good for you for seizing the opportunity!

This particular photo could maybe be a touch sharper, but you've caught such a nice, unguarded moment, it's very appealing.

Btw, that Supertramp song was my anthem the summer of 1978. :-)
