"Let go of that cigarette butt sweetie". Sorry, just the way dad is holding her wrist, reminds of times I tried to make my son let go of some crap he'd picked up off the ground.

I do love the timing here. Both parents leaning over at the same angle in the same direction, doting in one way or another on their children. Great mirroring.

ha they look like pilgrims submitting themselves before the church, but really they are submitting themselves before their children.

my first reaction: this little girl looks like she doesn't want to leave but forced by her father, she might start crying soon :) wonder why they covered the baby's carriage like this. is it that cold? this is a capture of some nice coincidences i guess. the repetition of the postures is cool, it's also cool that the mom's outfit is colour coded with the baby's carriage cover and the father's outfit with the girl's. i guess if you strecth this a bit more you might see some symbolism of the older girl being on top of stairs above the baby carriage suggesting hierarchy of age, also of gender may be, father above mother if this was especially shot in a patriarchal society. i guess if i look more into it i might find more such nice little things about it. as i said you captured some cool coincidences in this shot but i have to say unlike most of your other pictures this pic somehow doesn't make me feel much about it, i'm not sure why. i feel like something is missing. or am i missing something? :) i wonder, what do you think about it?

edit: reading joe's comment i looked at it again. agree with him it's a nice capture of an end of the day for these people and the girl's body language is i think what's really making this shot, but i still think this is missing something.

This kinda reminds me of photo my dad took of me and my mom in Brooklyn in the early 70's. I wish someone had thrown a blanket over me at the time because they dressed me in a ridiculous outfit that was a cross between a sailor and french legion uniform. My mom even had a jacket similar to that but it was blue and white with polka dots. Not sure what they were thinking.

A few moments before the click the parents knew it was time to go, they break and the father goes to get his eldest, they are late. the parents still think their hip, they have nice leather shoes and tight jeans. it was a cloudy day and the sun has moved down, they don't want the baby to catch cold, she is very tired and nothing puts her to sleep better than a walk in her stroller, she will be in a dream before the end of the block. Her older sister still living in her 5 year old Carpe Diem mindset wants to stay out into the night and wreak 5 year old havoc. But alas the day's adventure has come to a close...
