This is my first attempt at artistic still life. Getting the lighting just right was quite the challenge. I finally resorted to minor lighting and saturation adjustments. I really like the result though, and I hope you do too.

I like it. But it's slightly out of focus and too dark. Try using a longer shutter speed to make it a bit brighter

I like the composition and the mirror effect. You also chose the colours well. Corresponding orange and yellow of the roses to the fruits. But I would have liked it more with a bit more contrast. The black background is not black but grey. Pitch black would accentuated the colours even more. -stephan

Slightly too dark, better lighting could've made this shot more vibrant.

I really like this picture. I would happily hang this in my kitchen...!

excelent idea, but not so good realization.

I like this but it could do with a bit of brightening up.

I like the compositon, but the lighting is to dim.

Other than being dark, this is a really nice photo. Focus is good/ framing is as well. The double image on the mirror bothered me at first, but less so now. Nice arrangement. 7 Swash

I think that I see what you are trying to accomplish here. It almost works, but seems to be lacking texture in regard to the lighting. The dark tones don't bother me, but I believe light play is important to bring interest to such a low key image. A faint glow on or behind a subject or some such effect to draw attention to the main subject and bring some visual motion to the image.

Too dark. The reflection is nice, as is the layout of the shot but too too dark!!! 4-Martin.

I like the composition on this image. But the shadows are so light that it really flattens the picture. If you were to darken them about 10%, I think that would really help pop the fruit and flowers. --JPerez

Very nice still life but too dark.

I don't know why, but I just do not like those roses there. They just seem out of place. However, I think the reflection of the subjects is what makes this photo work, and overall I think this is a good photo.

Nice composition, mabye just a bit more light?

A little dark but pretty anyway....Good luck in the challenge. Grayce aka Gracious

I'm sure you've heard a lot of this, but it's too dark...if it was intentional, then for me, it doesn't go with the subject or the title...Fruits-n-blooms (for me) dictates a colorful and vibrant pic. Perhaps it was in error (and that never happens, right? - I've had my share) - beyond that...for me it still misses something...I still see just a banana, orange and 2 flowers.....OH, right now, I see the coloring connection - makes more sense - but still perhaps a different arrangement or something. Just my opinion :-) 4

Great shot, great use of colour. It's just a tad on the dark side, but I think that adds a little atmosphere. Great use of a reflective surface… (8)

could use more lighting

This has a very good and tasteful composition design, but I find the light and colors to be dull. The hardest challenge for this type of shot I have found it to be the focus on the reflected image on the mirror.

Very nice. This is fine art.

I really like the reflection, but I think it needs a touch more light to show some of the details better. karmat
