Alaska? You need to do some tone mapping or play around with levels/curves to really make this pop. I would love to play with the original after the challenge to see what I can do with it if you don't mind...

Well the light is a bit flat - shame this wasn't later in the day, but it's well composed, fits the challenge nicely, and the whale is a great addition.
