 WAY too busy, processed too harshly, blown highlights everywhere, no focal point despite all the lenses, controversial black bar borders, and generally just completely DPC-unfriendly. But I like it and somehow it nicely represents the informal wander-about part of the European get-together this weekend.

Post processing (because Mark asked): Duplicated the layer, changed blending mode to Overlay at 100%; used CS3's wondermous B&W conversion as a layer - unfortunately it doesn't save the settings for me to know what I chose, but probably "auto" which does a pretty good job; bit of punch with a contrast/brightness layer (but not too terribly much); flattened; duplicated that layer and applied a high pass filter at a setting of 10, then changed the blending mode to soft light on that layer. Flattened, resized, added borders, and voila.

I like this it has good black and whites, I don't really see it as overdone in anyway. I really like the one eye that is just peeaking at ya on the left.

It is a busy photo, but given that there is a ton of interest in the shot. I think there are too many open/empty shots these days, I think it is nice to see something fill the frame especially candids. I like it.

I thought this was wonderful - the clutter framed by all the faces give this shot a great energy - you captured the spirit of the gathering very well!

I actually really like the business here. I didn't vote in this challenge (I usually don't when one of my photos is doing very well, as I'm afraid of impartiality) but would have given it a good score. The contrast is also very well done IMO. I love bw with lots of contrast.

Hmm. I'm not bothered by then non-DPC-friendly aspects, but I would've liked to have seen the cameras more clearly. :)

This is so rich in tone and story...never thought a bunch of high-end gear and some DPC yokels would make such a cool photo. Very, very nice!
