|I had a short trip to the beach this week. It was a lovely surprise to log in on my first day there to see the new challenge topic "Sea"!
With the whole family having colds for the whole trip, I didn't get a lot of photography time, but managed to get a half-decent postcard shot of the coastal rocks, so that will be it for this week.
I originally planned a more panoramic crop, but the panorama made it too small to be useful, so I went with a more standard aspect shot. The border was also a tough decision, as it takes away from the image size, but I felt it was needed to define the crispness of the shot.
The dark top right of the image is from a polarising filter. This was my first real outing with the polarising filter on this lens, and I've learned to be more careful with a PL filter on wide angle shots. While it's nice for the water colours, it can really do horrible things to the sky.
Last minute update for a more sharpened version. I prefer the colours in the non-sharpened version, but it wasn't as crisp. Hopefully this light USM is a good compromise.
