 2 finches built a nest in one of my porch ferns. There are 4 and I have seen both parents. The dad is red and mother is brown. Here they are 2 days old. Will try for more pics soon.

They are about the size of a Brazil nut. My son said they look like snot covered in dandelions. :)

Oh Kelly! What an awesome photo. It's rare to see a nest from that angle. Usually you are looking up at one. Looks like a National Geographic photo. Can't wait to see more as they grow from being dandelion covered snot to cute little birds :)

they do look a little like snot covered in dandelions! but they are cute! i am impressed at the shot... shows the awesomeness of nature. can't wait to see later pics as they grow! you know you have to stand by, camera in hand, waiting for first flight, right. its required!
