Rita's sister Ginger was a person that dedicated her life to helping the American Indian. This is an earring she gave Rita that she had gotten in New Mexico from the Apache while working on her Masters.
Ginger lived in Billings, Montana. She was driving home from her family in Denver when she had a horrible accident. Ginger tried to miss an animal, flipped the car, and was taken from us.
Rita misses her every day.

So sad. I wish I knew why life always seems to dish out bad luck to the good people.

Lovely tribute to Ginger. Your written tribute is also lovely and the earring is beautiful, like Ginger's soul. Thank you for sharing this special moment with us. I lost my sister, and I, like your dear wife Rita...miss her every day.

blessings....

Sorry for your loss. It is amazing how people touch others in their life and that a simple object from them can become a symbol of who they were and what they mean to you. They basically take an ordinary object and make it special, defintely the case here!

Well captured, well written. Beautiful on so many levels. I'd love to see this held in Rita's hand as part of a portrait, but honestly I doubt it's a shot I'd set up if it was my family. Some things are just too real for me to try to capture with my camera.

A touching Remembrance to Ginger. A small and seemingly insignificant object which represents to you a memory of her and the strong dedication she must have invested in a most difficult, complicated & neglected area of work.
