Taken from outerspace... the thawing lakes on Mars due to global warming offer a great reflective surface for shooting planet Earth! I considered putting this in the weekend challenge, but was worried the interplanetary mothership wouldn't return in time.

On a more serious note, I am concerned about the impact of human pollution and the rising temperatures on this mothership, planet Earth. Global warming is NO sci-fi illusion, but a very real threat to the well-being of millions of lives on this planet, including human lives.

My thanks to my post-processing tutor, my son, Thomas (DPC "Zoomdak") who guided me into the strange sci-fi world of photoshop layers/filters/effects!

Very cool David. Nice to have a son around who knows how to do the fancy stuff, huh?

The lack of focus on the planet I think is detracting from the impact

The idea is super - and I love the reflections - not sure how you did that. Looks a bit biblical even, sort of Genesis revisited. I like the idea.

This is a photo that soft focus works very well for. I love the colors, composition and reflection. There is nothing you could do better. You get one of my VERY few perfect 10s

I like the artistic direction you went here but I can't help but feel a little disappointing that you used the flood filter. It makes the image only half yours so to speak.

Even though the water looks nice, I would really like to know what the base photograph is, this to me is not very photographic in nature and just seems very digitally created.

I like this but i wouldve liked it better if the earth was sharper. i think i realize the look you were going for but for just my personal taste i wouldve liked to see it different. Still a great image though. Good Luck! 8

Bad pun. A nice photo and editing, but I don't see it as sci-fi.
