 Morning sunlight illuminating a miniature red maple became the subject for trying out a newly arrived Nikkor 55-200mm VR lens on the D40. Because of hand tremors I invariably use a tripod and so this hand held result is a welcome surprise.

Like the way the red branch is composed in the blue line, and the graduated dark top would look even more dramatic if there were more of that negative space.
