This would have been my Candid entry, if it was taken during the challenge window. My intent was getting a picture of the cake on the plate, but it started to fall just as I was focusing on him. In this moment, he hasn't realized the "prize" has slipped from his grasp, as it were.

Post processing was all in Aperture: crop, bump up exposure and saturation a little, and sharpen.

why not just make it b/w to cut down on distractions?

It does have a lot of distractions and is a little OOF, but what a moment you captured! Makes me envision what the next photo would be -- him crying and the lady behind him bent over picking up the mess.
