This is an aluminum swirly thing I ran over with my car, dragged it 90 miles from Buffalo, NY, to Erie, PA, before discovering it under my radiator. It's about an inch in diameter and has 10 twists. Your guess is as good as mine...

Could you have possibly sharpened a silver crayon that perfectly? Hmm, maybe it is a metal shaving instead? Nice detail in the textures, and an interesting repetition of pattern.

Cool, I like the background and the diagonal composition. Looks like you shaved off some metal and it formed curls, but it might not be metal at all, it could be a silver coloured crayon. Not sure a crayon would hold together that well though. Good photo for this challenge!

That's some cool curling metal stuff! I have no idea if there is a purpose or if it's just curling metal. The blue goes well with the silver/gray.

Is this a metal shaving from a drill? If it is, it sure is an excellent view of one. Actually it looks kind of like the metal strip that was left behind when I used "double cuts" to cut sheet metal when I worked in construction. I like the material you chose for a background too. Nice composition.

I was guessing pencil shavings that were desaturated but it's reflecting the blue off the material so I'm guessing metal shavings from a drill while trying drill a hole. Very good photo quality.

My first thought was pencil shaving but it looks too uniform for that. Maybe some sort of shaving from something metal?
