Nice puzzle but the photo seems faded and washed out. Maybe increasing the contrast & saturation would help...

Well I think it's a flower because you can see the base of it. I think it's cool but would be 100% better if it were in focus.

Something else. It looks synthetic since all of the ends are cut off and perfectly round. Perhaps made of a plastic? But I don't know what it is. Seems a bit dull and lacking contrast as far as the technicals, but if you don't want the top highlights blown out it might be hard to fix. Perhaps reshooting this one with a softer light in the background and a bit more lighting in the front would give more flexibility.
