Almost all the tourists had gone by this point, crazy! All the monks were chanting and it was a beautiful atmosphere as the sun was setting.

Ah, that would explain it, thanks for the reply. Didn't know HDR was legal in basic, that's handy!

The photo is processed using HDR, which can have quite a strong dodge/burn effect on a sky. I also slightly adjusted the pure whites to a more pink hue but this is quite subtle. Unfortunately I couldn't rescue the burnt highlights. I completely agree that the sky is not ideal, I'm quite surprised with the ribbon!

Congratulations on your ribbon. I'm curious about the sky as well. Unfortunately, I didn't score this very highly because of it. Whether you've spot edited or not, it's quite a distracting mar. How did it happen?

Looks really good - but it also looks like you used a bit of dodging and burning around the hotspot of the sky - against the rules.

You could sell it to the Thai Tourist Board as it would make a great poster (I think it suffers in the details a bit for being constrained to dpc size). (It could also be a good Where's Wally? challenge photo ;-Þ)

there's a reflective quality about this photo that goes with your title. The lighting on the gold buildings is interesting - the one of the right maybe a bit too dark. There's a little too much walkway.
