Yes, I used a polarizer almost any time the light wasn't directly to the side. With this wide-angle lens, I don't like the parabola effect side lighting has when using polarizers. I found it worked best for these landscapes when the light was overhead or close to it. When the sun was low, I just made sure it was behind me and didn't worry about the polarizer.

Many weeks of camping here as a kid makes this my fondest recollection of Yosemite.
