Hi Deb. First thank you for the comment. I know you left the smilie at the end but to be honest it still rubbed me the wrong way. Do you say the same thing to those who keep shooting tulips, their kids, themselves, waterfalls, windmills, zoo animals, etc., etc?

FWIW, I shot it because it fits the challenge and I didn't have anything better I could pull off during the week and I needed a shot for the DPL. I do have 21 straight 6+ scoring entries and not all of them are bubbles so it's not like I'm desperately trying to cling on to the only thing I can score a 6 with. Granted it's not greatest subject and I'm sure you don't like them. I'm not exactly the most creative person nor am I someone who tries to fake it like some do here to great success so the ideas don't pour out like a fountain.

Actually, my point is that I really like your work when you get out of a studio-type setting, too. You do great portraits (the stuff you shot at the festival, for instance) and incredible architecture (I'm still taken with that one shot looking down the road in Austin.) You have good vision, in other words - you see things well then transform them into photographs. I do get a bit jaded about seeing the same things over and over - not from you in particular, just in general - even though they are done very well. I like to see things that take me new places, that show me people from all over the world, that look at things from slightly askew angles or perspectives. Did not mean to condemn your choice and understand fully why you chose it. And yeah, I tell Timfy that he really needs to quit shooting himself all the time, too.

I'm a sucker for bubbles and these two are great. I love the surrounding glow effect on the background and the treatment of the surfaces is just beautiful. It reminds me of something that Ursula or Dax would create. I love it. Definitely should ribbon.

Luminous! The blue in the drops really glows in the context of the rusty colored backgroud - a result of the complimentary colors? The smooth texture is truly inviting.

Nothing wrong with simplicity. Maybe a slightly tighter crop at the top so there's not too much black space above the warm background glow. Curious to know how you did this one, it almost looks like digital art.

This looks like something Yanko would do....only better! Not a whole lot better though. : ) Hee hee - my apologies if I have mis-identified you as Yanko...Yanko Yanko Yanko. Very nice shot. It looks like it is perhaps some sort of subliminal message to try to sway my vote. Can't you make your magic bubbles into 10's yet? Great colors but not quite as crisp as they usually are. 8

Great abstract. This is the coolest soap sud(?) shot I've ever seen. The background is excellent. If this is Yanko, you've outdone yourself m8. If not, still a big congratulations! :) Would really like to know the setup of this one because the background color is different than the refracted colors.

Very sharp and well lit, but image itself doesn't mean anything, so is kind of boring to me after the initial "cool" reaction. Technically excellent though, so it gets a 6 from me.

Very "under the microscope" feel to it. I love the aqua/burnt orange colours with the touches of pink and pearly white. It has a satiny finish too. I like it.
