I love the individual threads visible in the raised swab; the "sea of swabs" works for me. I see the one as fighting to rise up from the masses. Nice.

Good close-up, and an excellent choice for the challenge. Good deep black background. Just curious, did you raise or lower the saturation?

I'd like to see a photo of the used one on it's own. You've captured so much detail in the top half, but I find all that white at the bottom a bit distracting.

The used one looks like I feel sometimes! Frazzled and not quite the same as everyone else. Good detail.

Strangely beautiful image. Nice colors and a heroic feeling with the effect of hair blowing in the wind on the one taller Q tip. I'd just clone out the darker speck left of center lower part of picture.
