You know, one thing that makes these side challenges so awesome is the learning environment. Shooting something every day, working to get things the way you want, without the pressure of votes, and with an abnormally high level of commenting, especially in the early days -- it's amazing how much you learn in 30 days.
I like your idea here, and this is an interesting and attractive image (LOVE the colors). You'll figure out how to get it exactly the way you want as you keep trying. One really nice thing about digital photography -- pixels are free, and hence so is the education you get from shooting and reshooting and trying this and that. |

| I like this, too; I think you're being a bit hard on yourself, knowing what you see in your mind, and not having the image match. Experiment freely, especially here! This is a good, solid image. The effects work well to deemphasize the narrowness of the thread, while still allowing me to know what it is. Instead, I focus on the colors and the nuances in the shades. Lovely image. |
