The girl at the greengrocers looked at me funny when i asked if they had any rotten fruit i could have and then proceeded to buy the "fresh" version of the same fruit. 60 pence spent for the fruit for this shot... wonder if it was worth it ;)
The "rotten" one wasnt really that bad... it was just bruised and cut and didnt create a good contrast to the ripe one so i stuck it in the oven for 20-30 minutes to make it brown and crinkly :)

Post:
RAW conversion in RSE
Levels
Burnt the background to make it perfectly black
Burnt detail into the pears esp the "rotten" one
Sponged (on desat) some weird purple highlights
removed a blemish on the "ripe" one
Crop

Exquisite. (Delightful disclosure of oven treatment).

Fascinating doubling! New and old AND reflections to boot! Nicely composed with curves leaning into each other. Moody lighting works and the colors are great!

Beautiful picture, good composition, it's pairs (or should I say pears?) whether horizontal or vertical in the reflection. Nice and sharp, maybe unrealistically, and good black background.

Great stuff! For a still life this does it for me. Lovely light, editing and a great choice of subject. You'll surely be scoring well with this.

Two great subjects, well lit. You've managed to tell a story with a still life, rather than just stopping at creating a pretty picture.
