This does appear to be a bit tacky as a few different holiday themes do seem to be going. I am very familar with the camera you are using I have one very similar to it that I use occassionally. I know it doesn't seem like you really need a tripod for that size of a camera but it can help. There is a lot of blurring and movement in this photo. I am not sure if you just rushed and didn't give the shutter time to open back up again or if you fell victim to camera shake either way try taking a night photo just as it is getting dark also if you don't want to spend the money on a tripod find something to rest the camera on, cars, fence posts and tree branches can often help study the photo. Take your time relax and have fun with it.

This was a good try! Keep it up. One thought - some commenters have recommended using a tripod and that is best. When a tripod is just not practical like in a car, you might rig up a "beanbag." This can be made with a large bag filled about 3/4 with beans, or almost anything with "just enough" give/firmness to it to steady your camera. Drape this over the car window and you're in business. (My beanbag is a pillow case filled with a couple of old rolled up blankets.)

Photo is blurry unless it was intentional for the tacky challenge.

Dizzying!

This scene is pretty tacky, but I would suggest using a tripod or other means of stabilizing for nightshots.

Does not appear to be in focus. But - it is tacky.

I'd really recommend a tripod for these...
