Thanks for all the comments - I understand what you're saying about the landscape format, but the ant's back wouldn't be in that specific position - he, the plant and the light would all look wrong ;)

No, I'd like to own one, I find lighting for macro very difficult. This was done with ambient light, predominantly backlit although it was an overcast day. This was balanced with a silver reflector from this side of the camera. :) Do you use ring flash with your macros?

Very good detail in your macro. A touch on the harsh / higher than needed contrast side though.

really nice sharp macro, I find the vertical orientation results in some effect lost, it may have been better to orient this horizontally
