I think that this might be a wonderful B&W. the color of his hair is just too dark for a color omage IMO.

I love primate photos that express human emotions like this one does. It's also a fabulous portrait with great DOF, tones and sharpness!

Great expressional capture, colors, lighting and background. This reminds of a similar award-winning photo that included a swarm of butterflies around the ape and this ape has a similar expression--what a capture!! Well done.
