 I tweaked the levels to bring up the highlights and the saturation slightly, and cropped the image to an 8x10 format.

With the runner as your subject, he really should be larger and in better focus. Small subjects CAN work and it helps that yours stands out with his white shirt, but in those instances, the backdrop/environment is usually pretty dramatic.

sorry, but as a photographer your job is to convince me.

photographically, this is a nice picture. However, I am not convinced that this is religious.

I think a tighter crop would have put more focus on the runner.

Interesting idea. The photo is nice, but unexceptional. The winding road is good, but more dramatic surroundings or more interesting light woudl've helped.
