frame the boy a little to the left of the photo and it'll make an excellent photo. Good capture of expression - 7

Nice subject. Great clarity. I would have like the picture more if the kid had been more on the left side of the photo (left 1/3).

A powerful image. One of my top five this week.

A little brighter and this would have been a GREAT shot. Very strong focus on the subject. I'm less thrilled with the framing....since he is gazing to the right, I think placing him on the left 1/3 line would have been more inclusive of the direction of his gaze. It's still very good. 8 Swash

I don't know if it would have been possible, but if this little guy could have been more on the left, so that he was looking into the frame instead of out, I think it would have been more effective. karmat

The boy is a good subject but I would like to see more in frame in front of him than is behind him. It would help to give us an idea of what he is looking at or doing (possibly waiting for parent with groceries?). Since he is looking to the right, some of the background stuff on the left is a little distracting.

Great shot. NPPA will tell you to try to get both eyes, I know this was a candid challenge though. Nice overall 7

Makes you wonder what's captured his attention. Nice job.

There's something really nice about this photo. The way the light makes the kid's skin glow is beautiful, plus his attitude and expression.... what's under that tarp? Why is he in this place full of garbage? It definitely captures a mood and makes me think.

wonderful shot. nice light. my only suggestion is i think it would be a stronger composition if the child was on the left side of the frame. that is the nature of candid photography though. got take it when you can. good job. 8 goodtimecharlee

it would have been nice to see what was captivating

Too bad we can't see what he is captivated by.

Interesting shot, what is he doing or thinking about? Might a different standpoint have told the story a little better? So we know what he is looking at?

This would have been better with the child cropped to the left side of the frame.

Nicely done! I'm slightly distracted by some of the stuff in the background, but this is still one of my highest rated shots this time.

Good image. Perhaps could have been strengthened by moving the child to the left of the image and giving more room in the direction of the gaze
