Simple edit and photo.

i originally wanted to title it "untitled". Just didn't feel like giving it an emotion through any words. but then I figured in the simpliest form, to get people to see it through my eyes- I came up with the current title.

I wanted to give it more as an emotive piece. Something to think about and get the mind going. Not great, I'm sure you will all see a few flaws, but none-the-less a photo that I wanted to capture since I saw religion on the board. I hope you all enjoy it in its simplicity.

This was my outtake for another idea.

I find this very intriguing - the woman's face, shielded, implies an Arabic religion, yet the cross a Christian one. Very well composed. I played with it in photoshop just a bit and if you use levels to bring up the midtones slightly, you can see just enough of her face behind the veil - her mouth, especially - that it adds yet another dimension. I really like this take on the challenge.

a little boost of light in the eye area, possibly elimination of the lower hand (from this image!)and this shot is IT.....

I like how you can faintly see her jawline, mouth and nose in this. That's what first caught my eye.

The overall softness doesn't really work for me on this and I think it is because of the color noise on her forehead and under the vail. Those areas look "splotchy" compared to the rest of the photo. I also think it would have been better with only one person as it is hard to tell how they are being reverent. I think if you could have reduced the noise in the areas mentioned above and selectively shapened the cross and her eyes I would have voted much higher. As is I think it is a solid photo deserving of a 7 for the mood and tone are wonderful.
