Took this on the same trip that I took the shot for the "Username II" challenge, actually took this before that shot, this one is taken just before midnight, hence the date difference of course. Was planning a short road trip today and take something else for this challenge but it was one of the worst days of the year for me, Monika got real sick and had to be rushed to the hospital so taking a picture for DPC didn´t even enter my mind. As I am typing this she and Henny are staying there overnight and I am looking after Alexander.
I did not want to let my DPL teammates down though by not submiting anything this week as I may not be able to enter the open challenges so I searched the photos from last monday and thought this most fit the challenge. Used a polarizer to increase the reflection of the water. I absolutely have no feel on how this will score, could bomb or could do really well, all I am hoping for is a 6.5+ and I´ll be happy.
Lots of curves, mostly for contrast seperately on land, sky and water but also to correct color to a more blue hue, shot was a bit "greenish", even after WB tweaking. Some dodge/burn but very mildly applied. Healing brush to remove a lot of dust spots (gotta get that sensor cleaned, mental note...) Cropped to 7:4 and finally added frame and sharpened after resizing. |
