Think about it a moment...The surfer is balanced on the edge of a piece of fiberglass that is balanced on the edge of a wave. ALSO there is the edge between solid and liquid.

Great capture - and anyone disputing challenge relevance should be made to surf in shark-infested waters. Definitely would do well in the Action challenge - excellent.
Great shot: I feel the motion, hear the waves and how the surfer has to "work" to stay on the edge.
Technically it's flawless: crisp, great contrast and color and well cropped too.
