 Taken on route to Guangzhou, the manufacturing capital of the world. As you can see (or not), the pollution is overwhelming. The whole city had a yellow smog tinge to it.

I suspect a lot of the post-industrial world probably looked exactly like this 100 years ago. It's all that coal burning. I think this is better as a story-telling photo than a "wow" image - it's merits seem to rest more on what's NOT there because the smog is hiding it than what's visible (the slightest hint of some foothills visible behind that smog, for instance, makes one wonder if there'd be a mountainous vista if not for the belching of fumes).
