Bleh, who are these people sans pastry vision? We fart at them!

I was going for the brilliant color contrasts, shallow depth of field focal area, compositional balancing of right and left with subtle shape perspective in the center, contrast of textures, and (in keeping with the theme of the exercise) including as many "Shapes" as possible. Not.......interesting enough?

f32 perhaps? This is a macro taken with the Canon PowerShot A95. It is optically not possible to hyperfocus.

Thanks for the offer, however the scope of the project being "Shapes" includes the injection-molded circles, half domes, and geometry of the plastic container. Shallow depth of field in a macro piece precludes the entire frame from being in sharp focus. By limiting the shot to only those in-focus pieces, I doubt that would make an uninteresting shot such as this....any more interesting??

Great job. I love the colors and focus. Only thing I would change is taking the cupcakes out of the plastic container.

What great color - the right edge of photo being out of focus detracts a lot, I think.

The concept it really nice - but the capture is too busy for my liking, a clean background (without the tray) and more careful use of depth of field would have got a much higher score from me.
