Well I did my best, technically not the greatest shot but was quite tricky to get. Didn't want to burn the place down!

pp: curves, brightness/contrast, hue/saturation, crop, warming filter, resize, usm, save for web

Great idea, tough to capture :-) Did you use a high ISO on this? If you'd been able to lessen the grain (realize you couldn't do it in post due to basic editing) it would have scored significantly higher.

There is a lot of noise but a good idea.

This is the 4th entry I have sen for this username and I am afraid this is the worst of them so far. Needs lots of technical help.

Very nice idea and execution, but it's very grainy. You must have used high ISO and used flames alone for lighting. I think having an additional fill light would have helped tremendously.

I don't think that you achieved the effect that you wanted

good attempt at capturing fire in action. This is a nice setup - I like the pasta words on the plate - they've arranged well. The photo as a whole though is very grainy. I'm guessing you made the plate dark so that the fire stood out but I think you've gone a little too far - the camera needs some light to "see" - otherwise the noise comes through instead. More light also makes it easier for the camera to focus. Also, if you play with levels or curves or similar, you can increase the tonal range of your photo - instead of having a narrow selection of greys, you can have blacks, a huge range of greys and whites. Look at this tutorial for more info.

I am flattered...thanks...

as far as the image is concerned, perhaps a little noisy there, but hey, thanks again

Image is too blury and out of focus. Neat idea but poor setup. There is a gray line at the bottom of the image and a color blur or whatever that's called on the bottom right. For sure you have had to see that right?

Also the crop is awkard. There is more plate on one side then the other. It just doesn't feel right to me. Good luck with your entry.

i did a shot like that once, with a little squert of lighter fuel, and the plete cracked in two, and the fire went onto the table, used a bit too much i supose, nice idea, crop is a little tight, and is a bit grainy

Good idea, but high noise due to the low light. Noiseware is a good free program, or I've found that, in Photoshop CS at least, under "blur" is "surface blur". I use it at low settings, such as about 6 and 6, to clean up noise without losing detail. Hope this helps :)
