A Shape From The Past

This is a replica of the Ariadne an early coastal vessel used for carrying cut wheat to mills on different parts of the coast of Queensland.
Made of bronzed steel is mounted on a wall near the pier that the wheat was loaded from protruding about ¾ mile out into the straits, where trains carried the cut wheat to.

I like the placement of the ship-shape in the image. Certainly a pleasant night to shoot.

Very nice silhouette and a beautiful cloud formation. Great score. I'm glad it did so well for you. It almost looks like something from a book.

beautiful. you show a more complex view of "shapes" but the silhouetting gets your point across. The ship looks like a cutout!

Beautiful silhouette and colours in the sky. I do wish it wasn't cropped so tightly at the bottom but that is just a minor nitpick.

This is beautiful. I would like it even better if the bottom wasn't cropped off.

If the waterline was showing it would be a 9. I assume that this is a model, or an advertising item. The size of the working lines on the vessel are the giveaway. It's a good image anyway. Non sailor types would likely not even think about the lines.

Excellent lighting and silhouette - but you cropped off where the bottom of the boat meets the water, which keeps this from being an excellent shot. (Was there a reason you had to crop there?)

this is unbelievable! the sun creating the shadow image of a ship like that is breathtaking... and the 'shapes' that make up the ship alone are worth a 9!

this looks like a silhouette of a model ship on a real background. and looks just like that. The silhouette is too dark and lacks and any details. If it was moved further out to catch more of the light it may have been better.IMHO. but it's not working for me.
