 The air filter on my father-in-law's Kawasaki drifter, with light from a 500w halogen bounced off the garage wall to accentuate the brickwork reflection instead of trying to hide it.
The original image was pretty good straight from the cam but other PS work as follows:
- general levels adjust
- Burn out of corner background details
- mono conversion using gradient map
- (for printing) sharpen by converting to lab colour, using USM on lightness channel and converting back again
- back in RGB, use levels adjustment layer again to give the blue tint
- frame added by two-step canvas resize

Cool effect with the brick in the chrome. Nice contrast and tones as well.

I actually like this photo when I crop out the crank case cover (or whatever you call it) on the bottom. Sorta in between that bolt in the middle and the bottom of the chrome housing.

excellent. you could take a different picture of the reflections in this thing, and have it meet any number of different challenges. you should start a theme project.
