Greetings from the Critique Club
These pencil shots are always interesting because they can be done so many different ways.
You selected a symetrical composition, and it almost works. I think if the bottom three pencils were in exact alignment with the upper group it would have helped and also, if all the tips were sharpened to the same degree. The camera records every little detail, so all these little things count! Finally, I think it would have also been nice if the bottom three leads were in color, as well. But all that said, you have a very nice clean image here and it presents well.
It looks as if you are enjoying your experience at DPC and I'll look forward to seeing more of your work.

Hey - I said I would comment so here I am.
I gave this one a 6, and for pretty much the reasons that Monique64, PhantomEWO, and rachelellen said.
I know - I'm not incredibly specific, but I have a migraine. :) |

| Cool idea! This might be interesting if you had photographed it from an angle, and then had some shallow depth of field... but it's still neat. ;) |

| This is nice. I think it would have appealed to me a tad more if the white wasn't so bright....it's a little blown out at the bottom around the white pencil...it makes it a little too bright to look at. |
