It was absoultely freezing when I was taking this one, but I really like it. It was a variation on a similar picture I had taken a few years back of an ice covered link which I really liked.

The image, decidedly, appears not too dark at all on my monitors (Apple Powerbook G4 LCD and Apple eMac CRT). A shame, really, that some voters missed out on the pleasure others derived from this shot.

I like the textures of metal and snow - you really captured the crystalline structure of the snow and avoided the common problem of having it go all white. I think the composition would be more dynamic if the chain were placed diagonally across the picture; this is kind of static.

textures and colors clear -- composition and even the shadow of the chain links lack "wow"

Subject is crisp and clear, and dof is good, however photo seems pretty dark, and I would like to have seen a more dynamic composition.

I like the uniqueness, lighting and composition of your shot. Well done!

could have cropped a little more off the top to emphasize the chain and it's shadow more

Nice picture! I like the detail in the ice and on the chains. Good shot! Nice contrast as well!

Flawless, aesthetically satisfying entry.
The straight-on perspective makes for a less dramatic perception of the narrow depth of field than as if taken from an angle. Such an emphasis would, IMHO, contributed interest to a subject which is both worthy and appealing (due to the textural interest and an apparent tension of the chain at a temperature conducive to snowfall) but also one lacking spectacularity. I doubt, however, that such observations will influence its score in the context of DPC.

Among competing entries in this challenge, it should, desevedly, ribbon. But then again, -ribbon- is not a verb. ;-)

Mmm - so many contrasts. Warm colour of the chain but cold metal. Soft fluffy appearance of the snow but actually cold wetness. I like the simplicity of composition and background.
