-----------------------------

Just so you know - "vanishing point" is a technical term used in perspective and means the apparent point of convergence of two parallel lines. Now when drawing a house in two point perspective you use two vanishing points... these are where the horizontal lines of the house converge. These lines are virtual, in fact i challenge anyone to prove how the vanishing "point" is actually a real point of convergence... it is a question of perception.

Furthermore by virtue of the reflection in the image which is on an inherently horizontal surface (flat water) of what should (if the architects got it right) be horizontal lines created by the houses... means that these parallel lines are pointing towards a vanishing point.
Take away the technicalities and the whole picture is a triangle pointing towards a (vanishing) point on the horizon about 2 cm in from the left hand side.

I was really stumped by the comments - but realised that maybe vanishing point means different things to different people and also that to "fit" in the criteria you have to spell it out - ie extreme angle multiple lines which really meet at the vanishing point.

Thanks for the comments they were an eye opener, and although i was bummed initially by the low scores it seemed to pick up towards the end and i finished respectably. I'm new and learning :)

Wow, now that is some glassy water! The reflections are really nice, however I think the reflection hurts this in one way. That is the 'vanishing point' of the hillside (center left) loses some impact with the reflection making it pretty wide still at the exit point. JMO of course. :) Good luck in the challenge.

Cool photo, but I don't see the vanishing point.

Classic postcard :D Just to give a little critique i would have cropped 2 mm more from the left to remove the tiny little yellow spot at the house. But that's just me being picky...

Nice Colours, Appears sharp and great reflection. However I do not see it fitting the challenge very well. I dont want to sound negative if the shot had to stand on technical merit alone it would be a strong contendor.

Lovely scene and composition gets one of my higher scores, but questionable about meeting the challenge.

Although a striking photo, don't feel it meets the vanishing point challenge description very well.
