Critique Club review:

Hi David,

I was out all last week, so I didn't have a chance to vote on vehicles, so I at least have yours.

First, no doubt your shot meets the challenge well.

Your shinny plane is cropped perfectly. The eye is led nicely to the engine (subject) with very little distraction. Your dof and sharpness are very good, and fit the shot. The shinny chrome reflections are really nice, no reflection distractions to move the eye off the subject. I really like the modifiers and there locations, i.e. the window, exhast, and round antenna?. They give an opportunity to really study the plane. If you used flash, you did it well. If not, you didn't need it. So light was done quite nicely.

Overall, you diserved the high score you received and you should be proud of this wonderful image. I hope this slap on the back doesn't hurt.

Have a Great 2004 and looking forward to more great shots.

Van

One of the best entries in the challenge. Might be a ribbon material.

Interresting view. To put the focus on this part of the plane is a nice idea. -8-

Great picture. Very nice job of not getting TOO much reflection on that surface.

Great subject and very well made: I like the sharpness, light and cropping. Also the frame works very well. The overexposed parts at the engine work also very well: one wants to close the eyes because they are so bright. Gives me a feeling as if I am standing in front of this great plane.
It's probably a winner, at least in my eyes. Good luck

Aside from the chromatic aberrations on the highlights, I like this shot

Beatiful picture. The only thing that damages the image is the reflex in the metal, but it´s a good work, one of the best of this weeks. 8

Fantastic! My favorite so far. Very sharp and great closiness. Feel like I am there. This propeller looks so brand new.

What kind of an airplane is this motor on? Looks like an old DC-3? or somewhere in that area? 9
