Thought I'd take a break from portraits for a few days and take some pictures of some architecture. This is one of San Antonio's famous missions: Mission San Jose. It was built in 1720 -- and they still have church here every Sunday!!

I went there on my lunch hour today and I'm always awed at how powerfully you feel the history when you are on these beautiful grounds. I'm kind of in an architecture mood now, so maybe I'll show you a couple more in the next day or so of some different views.

Lovely architecture shot Sandy which really lets you capture the sense of history of the mission

For me the border works brilliantly with the composition.

If I was being very critical I would say possibly it could have been a tad sharper but there is way more that I like in this image and it stands just fine as it is. Really like the pov so you get the third cross just peeping over the wall

Sandy, another winner. I have to get to San Antonio area for a visit, soon. Your shots have convinced me of that.
I really really like the POV and the incredible texture that shows in your photo. The texture is so strong here I feel like I could reach out and run my hands over it and feel the ups and downs.
Lovely.

This is such a great old mission - I was lucky to visit this many years ago when I was in high school. I really like the angle that you took this shot - I usually see these dead on and this works really well
