Considered one of the world's most formidable fighter aircraft of it's time, the McDonnell CF-101B "Voodoo" supersonic all-weather interceptor was acquired by the RCAF in 1961 to replace the CF-100 in Air Defence Command. These aircraft soldiered on until 1984 when they were replaced by McDonnell Douglas CF-18's.

This shot was taken late in the afternoon on a cloudy day. Had the camera on the tripod. I wanted to submit a picture showing more of the aircraft but the surroundings just took too much away from the aircraft. So I decided to submit this "tight" shot. Hope it doesn't "bomb". Sorry about the pun :P

Treatment: curves, darkened slightly, desat colours except red, slightly increased red saturation, resized, border, resized, USM.

I am amazed I got 4 9's and 5 10's. Can't see why I got the 1's and 2's, but everything balances out I guess. Thanks for the votes and the comments.

I think this would have looked better either all B&W or all color. Desaturating all but the red, doesn't really work for me here.

nice angle and nice shot! i like the Monothic red colour scheme. Hmmm lets see is it a F18 hornet? or a F-15?

interesting viewpoint. I think it would have come out better if you extended the bottom border to include the landing wheels fully
