I feel like I am being tested (yes, the world revolves around me). You are submitting a completely random picture just to see if I will say it's brilliant. Well, life is brilliant! So much is done by photographers and other artists to control that brilliance and in doing so, they lose it. I can't say whether or not you can call yourself an artist for taking this picture... but this picture makes ME feel like an artist! I feel like I am looking at the world and the world is electrified with secret life. This is symbolized by the red that runs through it and the lace of ornamental spirals and swirls. The two people and the dog pretend to ignore. One of the women wears a burqa of shadow. I love your shadows! How do you do that?

On second thought... I just looked up from the computer monitor and the world isn't nearly this interesting. You are one of those damned dissembling artists after all. I have to stop looking at your picture now, because the more I look at it, the more I feel I am entering this world.

You win. I fail the test. I am insane. But perhaps it was you who made me so?

I don't like this one. Overly contrasty and messy, IMO. But not the kind of messy as the sleeping child shot. The jug on the table sort of rhymes with the what-do-you-call-that-in-English garden watering thingy, but they are too close in the frame, and not enough of a rhyme, anyways. Okay, there is a lot of red in the frame, so what? :) Am I missing something?

First reaction - Red! Love how it's all through this - the window displays, the sweather, the printing on the sign, the balloons and strings. Next, I like the dog. Then I just kinda like wandering around the picture - lots to see, all very interesting, and the light is warm and rich.

back to red balloons? :)
i like it a lot how the red is running thru the whole picture tying everything up. i find the balloons kind of contrasting the feeling of this picture. there is an overall sadness here, old things being on sale on the street, the dog's face look sad, the woman's posture looks a bit introvert and depressed and your choice of tones are definitely not warm.
