Taken at the Tour of the Gila in Silver City, New Mexico. This was the Catagory 3 Mens criterium run in the downtown area. I sat on the street to get an angle looking up at the bikes. I focused mostly across the street so that the building would be in focus, and used a slow shutter speed to capture the blurred images of the cyclists as the raced through the frame.

How cool! You reversed the blur making the subjects blurry and the background sharp! Well done!

Great motion capture.

Compositionally, I can't decide if I like having the tops of their heads and backs cropped out or not. On the plus side, it fills the frame better, and contributes to the sense of urgency or speed that the shot conveys. On the negative shot, it feels a bit accidental, because not much was cropped out.

Technically, I like that you have chosen to show the bicycles blurry. That helps to capture the motion and speed. I do think the back wall could be a bit more in focus, though. If it had been, this would have been an incredible shot.

Overall, good work in this challenge. You met the challenge well and had a good photograph.

If I need to further clarify or explain myself, please feel free to contact me.

One of the most original I've seen in this challenge. The colours and blur just work real well to depict movement and sport in action. Good luck!

Nice use of shutter speed, very different. A nice touch of blurring the cyclist. What puts it all in perspective is the writing on the window.

Good idea for a shot. Picking a better background could have made this much better (the current one is distracting and unattractive).

Nice concept which works in some cases but I think there's too much to look at (esp. words) in the background, which hurts the effect here. Also you might want to include a little more on top so you're not skimming off the tops of their backs & heads.

I like having the cyclists blurred, the background still. Works well.

Nice colours there. Has the feeling of time-lapse too.

good idea, wish there was something in the background of more prominance

I like the idea of focusing on the background (i.e. keep the camera still). For a nice "contrast in stress" it would have been really cool to find a background that was solidly relaxed, eternal etc. Like some green fields with a really old church or an old oak, or an old cafe with grandpa's playing chess.
