Gao Shuying of China, Modesto Relays.

Interestingly enough, I pulled an entry where just the top of her head was showing and I thought it looked like she had a small head. Then I entered one with no head at all!

very nice shot!, I like the composition with the bar placement and the pole still in the frame.

This should have finished very near the top. Outstanding capture and so well suited for this challenge. Very good work. Congratulations on your top 20 finish.

A very good photo. I've tried this shot myself and the sky has a tendancy to cause the subject to become so dark that it looks like a silhouette. The only suggestion I could make on this photo is take the photo more from the left or right so you are not so straight on. Also a shot from the front would be nice. Good job.

Excellent clarity and great angle. Would also love to see a wider (taller) perspective on this to get a sense of the height of the vault.

Not the most flattering angle I've ever seen. Clearly has the height; hope she cleared the bar.

This would be really funny if you cloned out the bar and called it something like "What's a parachute?".

Nice pic. Made me laugh.

Nice composition, the pole, bar and vaulter have simple yet interesting lines of convergence. Good luck.

Nice shot! Kinda freaky though how her head is "missing" ;) 7

I wish it had some kind of scale to it, and a face

there is this guideline for sports photography, and you did almost everything correctly except one very important feature...the emotional value.

I don't want to see her back side. I want to see the face. What she is going through. I want you the photographer to have me share her emotion, not the crack in her ass.

Comp could be tighter, color excellent, light excellent, capture great, emotional value poor, texture good, skin tones excellent, the pole either needs to go, or give me more, right now it is kind of distracting and almost erotic. Overall, keep trying

I like this because it wasn't a staged shot. 10 for the timing and the clarity.

IMHO pole-vaulting pics are best when the person's body is curved above the bar- still good tho- 6
