I know, I know, I wasn't supposed to shoot anything today. I'm supposed to be studying. But I ventured out to the grocery store, and there was this wonderful row of newspaper dispensers against a fabulous sky, and it had to be done. Besides, I really won't have time to do anything good tomorrow.
There was a lot of processing here, but the highlights are that it went from Nikon Editor to CS2 in color with no edits, then it was tone mapped, shadow/highlight, monochrome channel mixed, and polished off with an overlay layer and some dodge and burn. |

| Love the contrast between right and left side of image, and the sky is great. Very good composition. |

Beautiful sky. I really like the differences in feel between the stonework, the soft and welcoming sky, and the row of hard news!
STUDY. Keep the camera in its case ... until the exams are over. SORRY ... it's the mom in me. |

| I like the stark contrast. Also the juxtaposion between the fluffy clouds and hte hard lines of the building and newspaper stands. |

| I stared for awhile. The sky looks like a totally diffrent picture. I can almost see the clouds moving its weird. I also think I see the head of Conan O'brien. I also like the detail of the wall. |

| Beautiful. Here is an alt. suggestion for a crop - scroll down half way and leave only a triangle of the beautiful sky. News boxes, street view & sidewalk are the most interesting part for me w/center horizontal span with mix of relationships, shape/texture - cement block, light fixtures & shadow. The powerful sky contributes great drama, but so does your great high contrast conversion on what may be considered the primary subject. |
